abstract | The invention relates to a method for determining the value of a tube voltage (U) of an x-ray tube (6) of an x-ray device (1) for recording x-ray projections in a multi-phase examination of a specific tissue to be examined by a patient to produce at least one image of the particular tissue to be examined in each phase of the multiphase examination, in which for each phase a contrast-to-noise ratio defining the desired image quality of the at least one image to be generated for this phase is given for each phase while the contrast-to-noise ratio is kept constant. Noise Ratio for various potentially suitable tube voltages (U) of the tube current associated with each tube voltage (U) is determined, for each phase for each potentially suitable tube voltage (U) and the associated detected tube current, a value for the dose of X-radiation to be applied to the patient is determined, and at the value of the tube voltage (U) to be set at the x-ray tube (6) is determined from the various potentially suitable tube voltages (U) such that when the value is set during the acquisition of x-ray projections from the patient (P) for all phases of the multiphase Investigation the patient (P) in total applied dose of X-rays is as low as possible. The invention also relates to an X-ray device (1), in particular a computed tomography device (1), which is set up to carry out the method.
