abstract To protect heat exchanger tubes in steam boiler plants, special enveloping elements made of fiber-reinforced ceramic are proposed. These sheath elements prevent or reduce the formation of deposits and corrosion on the heat exchanger tubes and thereby enable higher steam parameters of the boiler system with a correspondingly increased thermal efficiency.
