abstract |
The invention relates to the field of medicine, especially the diagnosis, prognosis and therapy control of tumor diseases. The invention is based on the inventively discovered and previously unknown epigenetic decommissioning of the gene coding for the phospholipase A2 receptor-1 gene in leukemia cells ( ) and in patients with leukemias and solid tumors. Based on this finding, the invention provides methods and a kit with which the degree of methylation of the phospholipase A2 receptor-1 gene in an isolated patient sample is determined. |
