The room lighting system (2-6) is used to adjust a circadian rhythm 'and has a first light source for fully illuminating a lighting area with circadian effective light. The illumination surface occupies at least 0.25 sr of a field of view of a user who assumes a predetermined useful position. The room lighting system has a second light source for illuminating a work surface with circadian ineffective light. The method is for operating such a room lighting system (2-6), wherein for determining a lighting sequence, a phase difference between an internal clock and externally given time sequences is determined, which can be done in the simplest case by calculating a time difference between a starting location and a destination , |
