abstract | In a system for utilizing waste heat of an internal combustion engine by means of the Rankine cycle, comprising a circuit with lines with a working fluid, in particular water, a pump for conveying the working medium, an evaporator heat exchanger (4) for evaporating the liquid working fluid with waste heat of the internal combustion engine with an inlet opening (11) for introducing the working medium into a flow channel (19) and an outlet opening (12) for discharging the working medium from the flow channel (19) and the flow channel (19) is subdivided into a plurality of flow sub-channels (20) connected in parallel an expansion machine, a condenser for liquefying the vaporous working medium, preferably a collecting and surge tank for the liquid working medium, the working medium to an evaporator heat exchanger (4) substantially completely over from a liquid to a gaseous state of aggregation can be performed.
