abstract |
The legs of a bipolar forceps for RF coagulation are made of a bimetallic material, with an outer layer (18) made of stainless steel and determining the mechanical properties of the forceps, while an inner layer (20) is made of a silver alloy. From the inner layer, an electrode (30) is formed at the distal end of the legs (16). The inner layer (20) causes a good heat dissipation from the electrode (30) and prevents adhesion of the tissue during coagulation. |
