titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of 1,2,4,5-tetrazine-3,6-dithiols and 1,2,4,5-tetrazine-3,6-dithiolates |
abstract | By oxidation of 1,2,4,5-tetrazine-3,6-dithione by various oxidants, preferably oxygen or gas mixtures with oxygen, preferably air, compounds 5 with the anion 4 are obtained. The oxidation is carried out in the presence of an inorganic or organic base, preferably the hydroxides of alkali metals in a wide range of solvents, preferably in water or lower alcohols or mixtures thereof, optionally also with other organic solvents. The type 5 compounds can be protonated with acids to give the neutral compound 10, which can be converted back to deprotonation in Figure 5. The compounds of type 5 can be converted into other compounds of type 5 by double reactions with organic or inorganic salts of organic or inorganic cations with the cation 1,2 being replaced by cat 1,2 '. The compounds of type 5 can be converted into the 1,2,4,5-tetrazine-3,6-dithiols 3 by alkylating and arylating agents 7. |
