titleOfInvention Biocompatible shell for bone treatment
abstract Systems, methods, and apparatuses relating to bone augmentation sheaths are provided. Specifically, in accordance with one aspect, an apparatus for bone augmentation is disclosed. The apparatus includes a biocompatible body configured to fit over the basal supporting bone structure. The body has an inner surface defining a cavity into which bone growth material can be inserted. In addition, the body includes a rib portion disposed in a vertex of the body, a first surface extending downwardly on a first side from the rib portion, and a second surface extending downwardly on a second side from the rib portion. At least a portion of the first and second surfaces are roughened to have a microtopography useful for soft tissue attachment.
