abstract In a method of processing a substrate (101) for at least one photovoltaic cell (100), the substrate (101) is provided with at least one material property having a surface (102). A mixture (200) containing a gas (210) or a plasma (220) is provided. At least one additive (230) is added to the mixture. The surface (102) is flamed or plasma treated with the mixture. The at least one material property is changed at least in a region (103) of the substrate which adjoins the surface (102) as a function of the at least one additive (230). At least one electrically conductive layer (104) is applied to the surface (102) after the at least one material property has been changed. An arrangement comprises such a substrate with the region (103).
