abstract | The invention relates to a process for the preparation of drospirenone starting from 6,7,15,16-dimethylene-androst-4-ene-3,17-dione (dimethylendione, DMED) by reacting the dimethylendione with 1-halopropane-3-oxyverbindungen of general formula X- (CH 2 ) 3 -OR to 6,7,15,16-dimethylene-17β-hydroxy, -17α- (3'-oxypropyl) -androst-4-en-3-one, subsequent release of the protective group 3'-Oxypropylfunktion to 6,7,15,16-dimethylene-17β-hydroxy-17α- (3'-hydroxypropyl) -androst-4-en-3-one (DMHP) and reaction under oxidative conditions to drospirenone. Furthermore, the invention relates to synthetic routes starting from prasterone, androstenedione and 15-hydroxyandrostenedione to drospirenone via the above-mentioned reaction sequence. |
