titleOfInvention Conjugates for the detection of double-stranded nucleic acids
abstract A conjugate for detecting double-stranded nucleic acid, characterized in that the conjugate comprises: (i) at least one intercalator that is uncharged and specifically binds to double-stranded nucleic acid; (ii) at least one spacer covalently bonded to the intercalator; (iii) at least one first linker molecule covalently bound to the spacer, wherein the first linker molecule is biotin or a biotin derivative; (iv) at least one second linker molecule that specifically binds to the first linker molecule, wherein the second linker molecule is avidin, streptavidin, neutravidin or a biotin-binding fragment of avidin, streptavidin or neutravidin; and (v) at least one detectable label bound to the second linker molecule and producing a detectable signal, wherein the label is a biotinylated label.
