abstract |
So far, separate light units are used in stacked organic light emitting diodes for each emitter molecule. This design approach has for corresponding white LEDs a greatly increased processing costs result. When fluorescent blue emitters are used in such stacked OLEDs, a large portion of the excitons recombine without radiation. In order to reduce the number of lighting units and thus the production costs, several emitters are combined in the individual lighting units. In the case of fluorescent emitters, this is done in such a way that the singlet excitons recombine on the fluorescent emitter, while the triplet excitons are transferred to at least one phosphorescent emitter. The described devices can be well used for general display and lighting purposes due to their high light output. |
