The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for emptying a tank. In particular, the invention relates to tanks filled with cryogenic liquefied petroleum gas. It is an object of the invention to provide a method and an apparatus that allow emptying a tank in a simple technical way. To achieve the object, a device is provided for emptying a tank with a discharge line extending into the tank and with a closure means which partially closes the discharge line when a predetermined fill level in the tank is undershot. If the discharge line partially closed, the flow rate is reduced, which flows through the discharge line from the tank. This result is alternatively achieved by a device provided with a first main discharge line extending into the tank, a second sub discharge line extending into the tank, and a closing means closing the main discharge line when a predetermined level in the tank is reached. As soon as the main discharge line is closed, the tank contents can only be pumped out of the tank through the secondary discharge line, which reduces the volume flow. |
