abstract Process for the distillative recovery of pure 1,3-butadiene from crude 1,3-butadiene in a plant with one or more distillation columns, with feeding of a feed stream of crude 1,3-butadiene to the one or the first of the plurality of distillation columns wherein the one or more distillation columns have flanges with an inner diameter of ≥ 80 mm, comprising two opposing plane-parallel surfaces (1), with a seal (2) arranged therebetween, which faces the interior of the one or the first of the plurality of distillation columns atmosphere-side gap (3) between the two opposite plane-parallel surfaces (1) seals, and wherein the atmosphere-side gap (3) between the two opposite plane-parallel surfaces (1) to the atmosphere is closed to form a chamber, characterized in that the Chamber continuously during the operation of the Anla with an oxygen-poor gas or an oxygen-poor liquid containing 1 wt .-% molecular oxygen or less, based on the total weight of the oxygen-poor gas or the oxygen-poor liquid, is rinsed.
