titleOfInvention | E. coli secretion system based on S-layer proteins |
abstract | The present invention relates to an E. coli secretion system based on an S-layer gene sequence whose expression product mediates the secretion of recombinant proteins from E. coli cells. The secretion system is suitable for use in molecular biology and biotechnology. The secretion system according to the invention is based on the use of an S-layer protein, a partial sequence thereof or a homologous sequence as a secretion signal. The invention further comprises a fusion protein which contains a target protein to be expressed and the secretion signal according to the invention, a nucleic acid sequence which codes for a fusion protein according to the invention, an expression vector or a cloning vector for the production of a fusion protein according to the invention, a host cell for the expression of a fusion protein according to the invention and a Kit and a method for expression and secretion of a fusion protein of the invention from a host cell. |
