abstract A control system (10) is disclosed herein. The control system (10) includes a touch screen (18) and a computer (12) operably coupled to the touch screen (18). The computer (12) is adapted to determine a first position (VP1) at which the touch screen (18) is touched. The computer (12) can detect the first position (VP1) in any area of the touch screen (18) so that an operator can blindly set the first position (VP1). The computer (12) is also adapted to determine a second position (VP2) at which the touch screen is touched to determine the magnitude and direction of the difference between the first position (VP1) and the second position (VP2) and to control a control parameter depending on the magnitude and direction of the difference between the first position (VP1) and the second position (VP2).
