abstract Laser scanning microscope with an illumination beam path and a detection beam path, wherein a beam splitter is provided, which reflects the illumination light in the direction of the sample and transmits the detection light in the direction of detection, and an additional beam splitter for reflection of the illumination light and for transmission of the detection light is provided, which is arranged downstream of the first beam splitter in the illumination beam path in the illumination direction and this beam splitter is substantially transparent to the illumination light reflected at the first beam splitter, as well as the detection light, however, with respect to its reflectivity for the illumination light, detects a wavelength range substantially different from the first beam splitter.
