titleOfInvention Sintered sound and vibration damping material
abstract The invention relates to sintered sound and vibration damping materials, which have the property to damp unwanted noise and vibration. The object of the invention is to provide a material which is formed with a metal or a metal alloy as a base material and a second phase, with which an increased damping can be achieved and which additionally has a strength that it can be used as a construction material can. The material according to the invention is formed with at least one metal or a metal alloy with which a carbide formation is possible by chemical reaction and with carbon in the form of graphite. The proportion of graphite contained in the material is at least 50% by volume.
