abstract The present invention relates to a reaction mixture for the amplification of nucleic acids whose unmethylated cytosine bases have been converted into uracil bases by means of a bisulfitation reaction. Furthermore, methods for the amplification of bisulfited nucleic acid and for the determination of the methylation state of nucleic acid as well as kits based on the reaction mixture according to the invention are disclosed.
