abstract The invention relates to a soot sensor for determining the concentration of soot in the exhaust gas of a carbonaceous fuel, in particular in the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine, wherein an embodiment is provided as a lambda probe with a in a sensor body (20) arranged reference chamber (40) and a measuring chamber (30) and wherein a diffusion gap (26) for supplying the exhaust gas to the measuring chamber (30) is provided and soot in the diffusion gap (26) can be deposited and wherein the measuring chamber (30) and the reference chamber (40) measuring electrodes (36; 42) for determining oxygen.
