abstract A variable valve apparatus control apparatus (114) including a center-phase changing mechanism (113a, 113b) that changes a phase of the center of an operation angle of an intake valve (105) and a valve lift amount changing mechanism (112a, 112b) that has a valve lift amount of Intake valve (105) and an operating angle thereof, wherein it comprises: an area discrimination means that discriminates operating areas of an engine (101) as to whether an operation area (A) in which an intake air amount is changed in proportion to an opening area of the intake valve (105) is an operation area (B) in which the intake air amount relative to a change in the opening area of the intake valve is not changed substantially, or an intermediate operating range (C) between the operating ranges (A) and (B) is present; an error calculator that calculates an error of the intake air amount of the engine (101); an influence ratio calculating means which, when the motor (101) is operated in the intermediate operation range (C), has an influence ratio between influence on the center-phase changing mechanism (113a, 113b) and the valve lift amount changing mechanism (112a, 112b) calculated with respect to the error of the intake air amount calculated by the error calculation means; and a learning section that operates, when the engine (101) is operated in the intermediate operation region (C), correction values for correcting the control process of the center-phase changing mechanism (113a, 113b) and the control process of the valve lift amount changing mechanism (112a, 112b) learning the error of the intake air amount calculated by the error calculating means and the influence ratio calculated by the influence ratio calculating means.
