abstract |
A method for controlling the output from an exhaust gas aftertreatment system of an NO x concentration, comprising a silver-alumina catalyst reactor apparatus (20), during a lean operation of an internal combustion engine (10) comprising that: a preferred hydrocarbon / NO x ratio is determined based on selected parameters of an exhaust gas feed; controlling a quantity of NO x from the engine (10); controlling a quantity of oxygen from the engine (10); a hydrocarbon reductant is selectively discharged into the exhaust gas feedstream above the silver-alumina catalyst reactor apparatus (20); and a mass flow of hydrogen into the exhaust gas feedstream is selectively controlled above the silver-alumina catalyst reactor device (20), characterized in that Controlling the amount of NO x from the engine (10) includes controlling exhaust gas recirculation in the internal combustion engine (10). |
