ThenInvention describes a process for separating the gaseousnReaction products of steam dealkylation of a hydrocarbon fraction inna plant for the production of hydrocarbons from hydrocarbonsnUse, wherein as reaction products of the steam dealkylation aromaticnHydrocarbons and corresponding alkanes in addition to gaseousnReaction products mainly consisting of hydrogen, carbon monoxide,nCarbon dioxide and methane, arise. The separation of gaseousnReaction products by means of a liquid-gas extraction,nin which at least one ionic liquid contained in the extractantnor the extractant from at least one ionic liquidnconsists. The respective hydrocarbon fraction (1) is aboutna heat exchanger (2) as a feedstock in a processnled to the steam dealkylation (3). The reaction productsnthe steam dealkylation (4) are via the heat exchangern(2) which simultaneously preheats the hydrocarbon fraction (1),nand another cooler (not shown) coolednand led to a 3-phase separator (5). There will benthe gaseous reaction products (6) of the hydrocarbons (7)nand water (8) separately. From the hydrocarbons (7) is thendesired value product benzene (9) separated whilenthe remaining hydrocarbons (10) as well as the water (8)nbe driven again into the use for steam dealkylation.
