Display devices having light-absorbing layers with metal nanoparticles |
abstract |
A display device comprising a light absorbing layer comprising metal nanoparticles in a matrix material. Suitable matrix materials include organic materials, inorganic materials, polymeric materials, and combinations thereof. The metal nanoparticles can have different regular or irregular shapes and / or two-dimensional or three-dimensional structures. The metal nanoparticles can have a particle size of about 2 to about 20 nm. In some embodiments, the particle size distribution of the metal nanoparticles does not exceed ± 75%. The light absorbing layer may have a multilayer arrangement comprising 2 or more individual light absorbing layers. The light absorbing layer (s) reduce the reflection of ambient light in a display device. |
