abstract | Process for the back-splitting of polyurethanes or polyurethane ureas, characterized in that a) these polymers initially reacted at a temperature of 80-180 ° C with secondary aliphatic or secondary cycloaliphatic amines to form secondary bis-ureas and hydroxyl-containing diols or polyols and optionally amino-containing compounds, wherein the reaction in a solvent in which the bis-urea formed is insoluble or uses the amine used as the solvent and the pressure is adjusted so that the amine remains in the liquid phase, b) separating the secondary bis-ureas from the hydroxyl- or amino-containing compounds, c) the separated secondary bis-ureas with gaseous, anhydrous hydrogen chloride to the starting isocyanates cleaves and d) separating the resulting isocyanates from the co-formed HCl salt of the secondary amine and working up the two products separately, and e) working up and purifying separately the hydroxyl-containing or amino-containing compounds formed during the treatment with the secondary aliphatic or cycloaliphatic amine. |
