A flow field plate or bipolar plate for a fuel cell comprises a combination of TiO 2 and a conductive material that renders the bipolar plate conductive, hydrophilic, and stable in the fuel cell environment. The TiO 2 and the conductive material may be deposited on the plate as a separate layer and may be combined as a single layer. Also, either the TiO 2 layer or the conductive layer may be deposited first. In one embodiment, the conductive material is gold. |
