abstract A fuel control system (30) comprising: a fuel dynamics module that determines a fuel dynamics model (66) representative of a measured mass of combusted fuel indicative of fuel behavior that determines an inverse fuel dynamics model (66) that receives a fuel command and the corrected fuel command based on the fuel command and the fuel command generated inverse fuel dynamics model; a lost fuel compensation module (68) receiving the corrected fuel command and generating a final fuel command based on the corrected fuel command and a lost fuel factor that is dependent on the manifold absolute pressure, the engine speed, the intake valve temperature, and the coolant temperature; and a control module (46) that controls fuel delivery in accordance with the final fuel command.
