titleOfInvention Driving method for an electroluminescent display device
abstract A method of driving an electroluminescent display device (400) comprising: an electroluminescent display panel (410) having red, green and blue subpixels (416) in areas selected by a plurality of data lines (DL1-DLk) and a plurality of scan lines (Scan n_1, scan n_2), an integrated scan driver circuit (440, 440 ') for driving the scan lines (scan n_1, scan n_2) and an integrated data driver circuit (430) for driving the data lines (DL1-DLk) and a multiplexer unit (450) for selectively connecting output channels (OC1-OCj) of the integrated data driver circuit (430) to one of at least two of the data lines, the method comprising the steps of: - supplying select signals from two multiplexed clock signals (MUX CLK1, MUX CLK2 ) to the multiplexer unit (450); applying a first selection signal of the multiplexed clock signals (MUX CLK1, MUX CLK2) to integrated data three output channels (OC1-OCj) berschaltung (430) connected to odd scanning lines connected to subpixels (416); and applying a second selection signal of the multiplexed clock signals (MUX CLK1, MUX CLK2) to connect output channels (OC1-OCj) of the integrated data driver circuit (430) to subpixels (416) connected to even scan lines, each of the subpixels having an EL. Cell, which is connected between a voltage source (Vdd) and a ground terminal (GND), wherein the first selection signal is turned on and off every 1/6 of a horizontal period, wherein the second selection signal is switched to a state opposite to first selection signal, with the red (R), green (G) and blue (B) subpixels (416) arranged along the same data line, the scan driver circuit (440, 440 ') having a first integrated scan driver circuit (440). for driving from a first set of scan lines (Scan1_1 to Scan n_1) and a second integrated scan driver circuit (440 ') for driving a second set of Scan-L has scan lines (Scan1_2 to Scan n_2) sequentially applied to the scan lines (Scan n_1, Scan n_2), and a pair of Scan Lines (Scan1_1, Scan1_2) of the first and second integrated scan driver circuits (440, 440 ') are arranged adjacent to each other, and the pair of scan lines (Scan1_1, Scan1_2) of the first and second integrated scan driver circuits (440, 440 ') is alternately connected to the subpixels in the row direction, and where all the subpixels in each row correspond to only one color of red, green or blue, so that the pair of scan lines (Scan1_1, Scan1_2) scan signals only to subpixels with the one Creates color in the series.
