titleOfInvention Dampening agent transfer roller for a printing press and method for its production
abstract The invention relates to a dampening solution transfer roller for a printing press with a hydrophilic surface, wherein the surface of the dampening solution transfer roller has an oxide-ceramic surface. The invention further relates to a method for coating such a fountain solution transfer roller. Object of the present invention is to improve their wettability while increasing the efficiency in the production and use of dampening solution transfer rollers and at the same time to realize a high abrasion resistance of the surface of the dampening solution transfer roller. According to the invention, the object is achieved by applying a rough, wear-resistant ceramic layer to the surface of the roller body by means of thermal spraying, subsequently covering it with a sinterable, oxide-ceramic material bonded to a binder and exposing this material to a high energy density by the action of a locally effective energy source is sintered. By sintering open pores of the ceramic layer are closed. After cooling and curing, the surface of the dampening solution transfer rollers is ground.
