titleOfInvention | Acyl lactam compounds and process for their preparation |
abstract | Described are acyl lactam compounds of the formula wherein: X 1 and X 2 are NH and / or O, n is an integer from 3 to 15 and R 1 is a linear or branched diradical of an alkylene, alkenylene, cycloalkylene and / or arylene group having in particular 2 to 2,000 carbon atoms or R 1 is a diradical of an alkylene, alkenylene, cycloalkylene and / or arylene group having in particular 2 to 2,000 carbon atoms and having at least one heteroatom. Further described is a method particularly suitable for the preparation of these acyl lactam compounds. This is carried out in two stages, wherein i) a terephthalic acid dihalide with a lactam to Terephthaloylmonolactamhalogenid the formula is reacted with Y = CI or Br in the presence of a base and ii) the Terephthaloylmonolactamhalogenid HX 1 -R 1 X 2 H is reacted in the presence of a base with a compound of the formula. The acyl lactam compounds according to the invention can be prepared in high yields from commercially readily available starting materials without the use of protective group technology. |
