titleOfInvention Preparation and use of sodium diformate
abstract ThenThe present invention relates to a sodium diformate in solid formnwith a content of formic acidnof at least 35% by weight, based on the total weight of the sodium diformate, nand a process for its preparation, which comprises at elevated temperaturenfrom sodium formate and aqueousnor concentrated formic acidnwith a formic acid contentnof at least 74% by weight produces a homogeneous mixture comprisingnmolar rationfrom HCOOH to Na [HCOO] greater than 1.5: 1 and a modular ratio ofnformic acidnto water of at least 1.1: 1, the reaction mixturencoolsnand separating the solid phase from the mother liquor. The sodium diformate according to the invention is suitablenfor use in animal feed and feed additives, nespecially fornMonogastric, as well as acidifiers, preservatives, silage additives,nFertilizers andnGrowth and performance promoter.
