abstract | A process for cleaning surfaces using aminoplast foam pieces made from (A) open-cell aminoplast foams having a density in the range of 5 to 500 kg / m 3 and an average pore diameter in the range of 1 .mu.m to 1 mm or (b) open-celled aminoplast foams having a density in the range of 5 to 500 kg / m 3 and an average pore diameter in the range of 1 μm to 1 mm which has been treated (b1) with aqueous formulation of at least one compound (b-1) containing at least one semiaminal or aminal group per molecule or at least one copolymer which contains at least one OH-group-containing or β-dicarbonyl-containing or epoxide group-containing comonomer, or (b2) having at least one carboxyl group-containing and / or carboxylic acid ester group-containing polymer (c-1) having a molecular weight M n in the range from 1000 to 1,000,000 g / mol, which is solid at room temperature, wherein the aminoplast foam pieces used have an average diameter in the range of 0.1 mm to 50 mm. |
