abstract A simple planetary gear mechanism is provided with an automatic alignment function to support the planet gear to obtain a speed reduction with a reduced idle speed by a simple method. A planet gear is carried by a carrier pin, which in turn is carried by a carrier. The carrier bolt has a crank part which is eccentric about "e" relative to the central axis of the carrier bolt, the eccentricity angle being made variable. The planet gear is rotatably supported about the central axis of the crank part. Thus, if the eccentricity angle is made variable, the center axis of the planet gear is automatically aligned in the radial direction when each gear is assembled, thereby making it possible to minimize the idle gear only by providing a sun gear with a proper dimension.
