Device and method for cryogenic filling of aerosol product batches |
abstract |
In order to avoid evaporation of the propellant during the pressureless filling of an aerosol formulation provided with a volatile propellant, the product to be filled is cooled before being fed to a metering device. So far, chlorofluorocarbons such as R11 have been used as refrigerants, but their use is no longer permitted in Germany and other countries. DOLLAR A According to the invention it is therefore proposed to precede the heat exchanger used to cool the aerosol product batch with an evaporator in which a liquid refrigerant evaporates and is brought to the temperature desired for cooling the aerosol product batch by means of a control device. DOLLAR A The invention enables the use of environmentally friendly refrigerants, such as nitrogen, without the risk that the aerosol formulation freezes on cooling. The invention enables the temperature of the refrigerant to be freely adjusted over a wide temperature range. |
