titleOfInvention Ceramic carrier and ceramic catalyst body
abstract The invention relates to a ceramic catalyst body which, according to the invention, is to be equipped with a better catalyst performance by using a ceramic support which is able to carry a catalyst component directly. The ceramic carrier according to the present invention has a multiplicity of pores or an element which is capable of directly supporting the catalyst on the surface of the substrate ceramics and a multiplicity of cells which are arranged essentially parallel to one another, its inside serves as a gas flow passage and the cell wall has an irregular surface. Because of the irregular surface of the cell wall, a larger surface area is achieved, which leads to an improvement in the conversion capacity due to an increased amount of catalyst that can be carried, and the distance between the catalyst particles can be made larger, thereby reducing the performance (of the catalyst ) is prevented. The irregular surface also results in a distribution of the gas flow in the vicinity of the catalyst such that the likelihood of contacting the catalyst becomes higher, which leads to improved conversion performance.
