titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of carboxylic acid esters |
abstract | A new process is described for the preparation of alpha-halogen-substituted carboxylic acid esters, for example HCF¶2¶ (C (O) OR). Corresponding malonic diesters are transesterified and decarboxylated with a carboxylic acid, for example trifluoroacetic acid, in the presence of a catalyst, in particular an "onium" salt of a carboxylic acid or an effective amount of a proton-releasing acid, preferably a sulfonic acid such as alkyl or aryl sulfonic acid, or a mineral acid. The process is suitably carried out anhydrous. The advantage of the method is that it is simple to carry out. Is esterified with a sufficiently active carboxylic acid, e.g. B. with trifluoroacetic acid, the presence of an additional catalyst is unnecessary. |
