abstract The invention relates to a process for the oxidation of trimethylphenol (TMP) to trimethylbenzoquinone (TMBQ) with the aid of various molecular sieves which contain different transition metals. In this process, TMP, a molecular sieve containing a transition metal in its skeleton, an oxidizing agent and a solvent are mixed together to form a reaction system. The reaction system reacts to a temperature of about room temperature to 150 ° C. to form TMBQ, and the concentration of the TMP is about 5-60% by weight.
