abstract The invention is based on the idea of providing a probe arrangement with a distal probe tip (2) and a proximal handpiece (1) for the electrothermal coagulation of tissue. The probe arrangement has at least one first and one second electrode (11, 13) in the region of the distal probe tip. An inner conductor (10) of the probe arrangement extends from the distal probe tip (2) to the proximal handpiece (1) and makes electrical contact with the first electrode (11) in the distal probe tip. An outer conductor (19) of the probe arrangement extends from the distal probe tip (2) to the proximal handpiece (1) and serves to make electrical contact with the second electrode (13) in the distal probe tip (2). The inner and outer conductors (10, 19) of the probe arrangement are electrically insulated from one another. The inner conductor (10) is also selected in such a way that the bending stiffness of the probe arrangement between the probe tip (2) and the handpiece (1) is increased.
