abstract | The invention relates to a premixed additive composition and a process for the production of polyester resins for the production of plastic containers, such as bottles. The additive composition contains a cobalt-containing compound premixed with a phosphorus compound. The polyester resin, e.g. B. a PET resin, can be prepared by reacting ethylene glycol with dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) or terephthalic acid (TA) with esterification. To prepare the additive composition, the phosphorus compound can be quickly poured into the cobalt compound, such as cobalt acetate. The composition obtained is added to the reaction vessel before the polycondensation. However, the additive composition can also be prepared by slowly pouring the phosphorus compound into the cobalt compound within at least 5 minutes. Such premixing largely eliminates any yellow or blue color or cloudiness in the product article. |
