titleOfInvention Method and device for reconstructing three-dimensional images from cone beam projection data
abstract The invention relates to a method for the reconstruction of three-dimensional images from cone beam projection data of an examination object arranged in an examination area. In practice, cone beam projections are usually cut off, since it is usually not possible to fully image the examination object in all imaging positions. An image reconstructed only from the acquired projection data therefore does not have the highest possible image quality. In order to continue the projection data beyond the sensitive detector area and to obtain images with higher image quality, a method according to the invention is therefore proposed with the following steps: DOLLAR A a) Acquisition of the cone beam projection data by means of an X-ray device having an X-ray source and an X-ray detector, the X-ray source to record the projection data along a trajectory around the examination area, DOLLAR A b) determining the contour of the sensitive detector surface of the X-ray detector on which projection data were recorded, DOLLAR A c) determining pseudo-projection data in a whole, surrounding the sensitive detector area in a ring Outside area from the determined projection data and DOLLAR A d) Reconstruction of a three-dimensional image of the examination area from the projection data recorded on the sensitive detector surface and the outside area n Pseudo projection data.
