| abstract |
An image scanner (10) has a substrate, a photosensitive image scanner matrix (14) on the substrate (12), a scintillator (16) over the matrix and a cover (18) over the scintillator which is sealed to the substrate. An edge of the matrix (14) is arranged close to an edge of the substrate (12) relative to the other edges of the matrix and the substrate. A U-shaped end cap (28) covers and is sealed to an edge of the cover, the edge of the substrate and a portion of both the cover and the substrate inward from their respective edges. |
