titleOfInvention Process for the recovery of caprolactam from PA6 carpet waste
abstract The invention relates to a process for the recovery of caprolactam from carpet waste by a simplified method for separating the PA6 from the waste material and the subsequent depolymerization of the PA6 in the polyamide / caprolactam solution obtained. DOLLAR A The PA6 carpet waste can be used both in the form of new goods or production waste as well as in the form of post-consumption, possibly processed waste material. Caprolactam is used as a solvent for the PA6 of the waste. The solution obtained is subjected to an alkaline depolymerization, whereby anhydrous caprolactam is obtained. Contaminated caprolactam fractions can be purified by extraction. The caprolactam used as solvent is completely recovered.
