titleOfInvention | Process for producing a molten carbonate fuel cell and molten carbonate fuel cell |
abstract | The present invention relates to a method for producing a molten carbonate fuel cell with a cathode layer made of porous nickel oxide, an anode layer made of porous nickel and a melt which is arranged between the cathode layer and anode layer and is taken up in a fine-porous electrolyte matrix from one or more alkali metal carbonates as electrolytes the cathode layer is converted into a sintered electrode sheet made of porous nickel and coated with catalytically activating particles in the fuel cell mode to nickel oxide. According to the invention, it is provided that the electrode web is coated with catalytically activating particles of one or more non-oxidic inorganic metal compounds, which are converted to the corresponding metal oxides in fuel cell operation with gas evolution. The invention further relates to such a fuel cell with increased activation of the cathode reaction. |
