titleOfInvention | Use of palatinase and trehalulase sequences as nutritive markers in transformed cells |
abstract | The present invention relates to recombinant nucleic acid molecules which contain a DNA sequence which encodes a protein having the enzymatic activity of a palatinose hydrolase, also referred to as palatinase, or a trehalulose hydrolase, also called trehalulase, and to the use of these nucleic acid molecules as a selection marker in transformed cells. In particular, the invention relates to recombinant nucleic acid molecules containing a DNA sequence encoding a protein having the enzymatic activity of a palatinase or a trehalulase, and wherein said DNA sequence is under the control of regulatory sequences of a plant-active promoter. Furthermore, the invention relates to vectors and host cells which contain the recombinant nucleic acid molecules of the invention. Further provided are methods for producing transformed plant cells and plants using the recombinant nucleic acid molecules and vectors. The invention further relates to transgenic plants whose harvest products and propagation material as well as transgenic plant cells which contain the nucleic acid molecules or vectors according to the invention or are prepared by the process according to the invention. In particular, the invention also relates to the use of DNA sequences which encode a protein having the enzymatic activity of a palatinose hydrolase or a trehalulose hydrolase, as a nutritive selection marker in ... |
