titleOfInvention Calenderable polyester blend
abstract The invention relates to a polyester mixture that can be processed on calenders for the production of polyester films, sheets and coatings. A calenderable polyester mixture is already known. This has the defect that the bead formation of the thermoplastic melt is often inadequate when it is processed on calenders, as a result of which the quality of the finished products is impaired. The invention is based on the problem of providing a calenderable polyester mixture, the plasticized melt of which has good stretching and flow properties and thus allows the formation of a homogeneous rolling bead in the roll gap, with the aim of producing high-quality polyester films and minimizing production disruptions. Surprisingly, this object can be achieved by adding a modifier based on core-shell copolymers to the polyester mixture in addition to the additives to reduce the adhesive force. The modifier for adjusting the flow properties, the toughness and the bulging of the thermoplastic melt is a methacrylate-butadiene-styrene or a methacrylate-butyl acrylate core-shell polymer, based on the polyester mixture in an amount of 5 to 40% by mass on the total mass, is added. An amorphous polyester polymer that can be processed at 240 ° C. is used as the polyester. It is thereby achieved that a well rolling, homogeneous bead is continuously formed in the nip.
