titleOfInvention | Bridged glycoconjugates |
abstract | The present invention relates to glycoconjugates in which a protein portion is covalently bridged via a carbohydrate chain with a further protein portion, a nucleic acid or a lipid or a micelle. The bridging takes place via a chemical group which does not occur naturally in the carbohydrate portion of glycoproteins and which is coupled to a neuraminic acid residue, a galactosamine residue or a glucosamine residue of the carbohydrate chain. The invention further relates to a method for producing these glycoconjugates, in which in a first step eukaryotic cells are cultivated in the presence of a non-physiological precursor carbohydrate, and in a second step covalently bridging the glycoprotein isolated in the first step with the carbohydrate portion of a glycoprotein with a nucleic acid or a lipid via a reactive chemical group that does not occur naturally there. |
