abstract The invention relates to nucleic acid molecules which code for proteins with the enzymatic activity of an acyl hydrolase, in particular a triacylglycerol lipase (TAG lipase), methods for producing transgenic plants which contain these nucleic acid molecules and their content of acyl hydrolase, in particular TAG lipase, changed compared to wild type plants, these new plants, their parts and products and plant cells as well as the use of the nucleic acid molecules to influence the content of polyunsaturated fatty acids in transgenic plants.
