Alkoxycinnamic acid esters (alkoxycinnamates) are formed by the condensation of acetic acid C¶5¶-C¶8¶-ester with C¶1¶-C¶4¶-alkoxybenzaldehyde in the presence of alkali and / or alkaline earth-C¶1¶-C¶4 ¶-alcoholate is produced, whereby C¶1¶-C¶4¶ alcohol formed during the reaction is removed from the reaction mixture. |
