abstract |
Transparent scintillator material for the rapid conversion of stimulating radiation such as X-rays into scintillation radiation. The scintillator material has a cubic garnet host lattice and contains praseodymium as an activator. The scintillator material can be a polycrystalline ceramic material. The polycrystalline ceramic is formed by sintering a powder formed by precipitation. The scintillator material can be built into a computed tomography (CT) device or other x-ray imaging device. The scintillator material can also be incorporated into a fast responding x-ray detector system. |
