abstract The invention relates to a silicate coating composition, a process for its production, its use and a substrate coated with the silicate coating composition. The silicate coating composition comprises water glass or a mixture of water glass and silica sol in which the molar ratio of SiO¶2¶ to alkali oxide is 5 to 30 moles SiO¶2¶ per mole alkali oxide, one or more organic ammonium compound (s), one or more filler (s) and optionally other additives. In the one-component state, the silicate coating composition according to the invention has an increased storage stability and the coated substrate is characterized by an increased stability against weather influences.
